Goals

Our team is passionate about arts education. We are artists and teachers, and members of this community, who are dedicated to bringing the arts to everyone from pre-school through seniors, because we have each experienced the many ways that the arts can change people's lives.

The first step in this process is to create a safe, open space where people can meet and share their skills;

  • We will offer a wide-ranging program in visual and performing arts that is responsive to community needs;
  • We will operate, as much as possible, as a cooperative, encouraging the sharing of the use of the space and resources by our members;
  • We want to ensure that our primary focus is on local artists and members of the community;
  • We will meet each member at her/his personal level, and challenge all participants to realize their highest level of artistic potential;
  • We will encourage work that explores and furthers understanding of local cultures and history;
  • We will serve everyone, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, religion, national/ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical/communication ability, or artistic or financial means;
  • We will act as a positive force to bring the community together by educating against racism, misogyny, homophobia, sexism, ageism, and all other forms of destructive discrimination.
